Caching in Spring Boot

Caching is a small number of annotations and a much larger number of ways to cache the wrong thing, or the right thing for too long. This topic is the four annotations, what actually becomes the cache key, and the one production fact the annotations themselves will never warn you about: the default cache does not survive having more than one instance of your application running.
